Quick Apple Puff Pastry Hand Pies
Crispy, flaky puff pastry hand pies filled with juicy apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar. An easy homemade treat made with store-bought puff pastry.
Easy⏱ 40 min👥 6 servings♨ 180 °C / 356 °F
Method
Mix the cornstarch with 30 ml cold water. Pour it into the apples and cook, stirring, until the filling thickens. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.
Lightly roll out the puff pastry and cut it into equal circles.
Spoon the apple filling onto half of the pastry circles. Cover with the remaining circles and seal the edges with a fork.
Cut a few small slits in the top of each pie to allow steam to escape. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with a little sugar if desired.
Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 15–20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
